Classroom Teacher - Temporary Full Time or Part Time
Mater Dei is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for a full time Classroom Teaching position, commencing in Term 3, 2025 (date negotiable) until December 2025. Mater Dei is also open to suitably qualified part time candidates (job share arrangement).
Position Summary
Classroom Teachers at Mater Dei are currently responsible to the Principal through the Deputy Principal. It is an expectation that the Classroom Teacher may teach across all Key Learning Areas and may be required to teach Infants, Primary and/or Secondary students. Applications are encouraged from teachers with experience across any/all Stages of the Primary or Secondary Curriculum, including applicants specialising in a particular Key Learning Area. Pre-Service teachers with current NESA Conditional Accreditation to Teach will also be considered.
In addition, the Teacher will demonstrate a graduate, proficient or highly accomplished level of professional practice, in line with the seven Australian Professional Standards for Teacher.

School Systems Specialist Support Officer - Full Time
Mater Dei is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join our School Administration Team as our School Systems Specialist Support Officer.
About the Role
The Systems Specialist Support Officer role is primarily responsible for establishing and maintaining student data and records through our School Management System, Compass, in a fast-paced school environment and includes developing and supporting staff, users and parents in the functions of this System.
This includes Identifying areas for process improvement or streamlining and working with the School Office Manager to implement change, including creating workflows, maintaining Administration process documentation and delivering reports from school databases, as required creating workflows, maintaining Administration process documentation and delivering reports from school databases, as required.
The ability to effectively and interact with the School Executive, staff, students, parents and members of the Mater Dei community is a significant feature of the role.
Key Selection Criteria

Detailed working knowledge and experience using Compass, the School Management System, Including the various roles and functionality across learning and assessment, wellbeing, and business performance.

Excellent organisational and administrative skills

Advanced IT skills inclusive of Microsoft Office, Google, Adobe and Canva.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, alongside a proactive and positive approach to change management and continuous improvement

Outstanding communication and customer service skills with a proven ability to maintain effective and positive relationships at all levels within, and outside the School.

Strong time management skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and manage competing tasks with a high level of attention to detail.

The ability to develop high levels of trust with staff, students, parents, and the School community.

The ability to remain calm under pressure and work to deadlines, managing competing priorities and a high level of discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Previous experience in a School Administration role is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compass / Student Administration
-
Maintain and update student profiles, ensuring all personal, academic, and contact information is accurate and up to date.
-
Enter and manage student data within the Compass School Management System, including enrolment details, attendance, academic records, and special needs information.
-
Oversee the Compass Attendance Management Module and reception’s daily data input.
-
Maintain the Compass New Parent Handbook and offer training and support for new parents.
-
Update and manage student Health Care Plans in Compass, ensuring all medical and health information is accurately documented.
2. System Management & Support
-
Act as the primary point of contact for all troubleshooting and system problems related to Compass.
-
Collaborate with IT staff and the School Executive to implement updates, enhancements, and improvements to the Compass system.
-
Provide training and support to school staff on the effective use of the Compass system.
-
Assist the Finance Team with Compass School Fees.
-
Assist with managing School website material and social media accounts.
-
Assist with the preparation, verification, and submission of the annual Census report within the Compass School Management System. Ensure that all required student data is accurate and up to date for reporting purposes.

Ensure all parent forms are uploaded and current in Compass for parent access.
3. Office Administration
-
Reception relief as required
-
Monitor shared mailbox and correspondence, and handle requests and inquiries.

Assist in organising Staff, Student and School events.

Support at School Events
-
Assist with morning and afternoon student arrival and departure transport activities, ensuring students are safely boarding and disembarking from taxi’s or other forms of transportation.

Remuneration and Benefits
This Position is Classified under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Support Staff Model A) Multi-Enterprise Agreement as a School Support Staff - Level 4 or 5 (depending on experience).
This role is eligible for PBI salary packaging of up to $15,990 per Fringe Benefit Tax Year.

Combined PPT Relief & Indentured Casual Classroom Teacher - Temporary for 2024
A unique opportunity has become available for a combined PPT Relief and Indentured Casual Classroom Teacher to join our Mater Dei Community in a temporary capacity in 2024. This position is fulltime, however, applications with part time availability will also be considered. Teachers with experience across any/all Stages of the Primary or Secondary Curriculum, including applicants specialising in a particular Key Learning Area, and Pre-Service teachers with current NESA Conditional Accreditation to Teach will also be considered. The successful applicant will work in a collaborative Team with Class Teachers, Teacher Assistants, and experienced Executive Staff.
About the Role
