We are seeking expressions of interest from talented and experienced individuals with strategic marketing and communications expertise to achieve our organisational objectives – supporting us in a period of ongoing growth by building our brand and its reputation, the acquisition of new funders and customers, and the retention of supporters for this critical full time role.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator is an integral part of Mater Dei and the Development Team.

With professional freedom and autonomy for leading the strategic marketing and communications direction and activities of Mater Dei, this is a position that requires dynamic and engaging leadership. The role will be responsible for building and diversifying marketing, developing and growing brand awareness and its reputation and communications across the Mater Dei Organisation. It also plays a key role in animating the Catholic and Good Samaritan Benedictine values of Mater Dei.

 Mater Dei works in a highly collaborative manner and marketing serves as a critical shared service across the Organisation.  This is a varied hands-on role so flexibility, adaptability and a ‘can do’ attitude is a must!

 

About You

To thrive in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Tertiary degree in Marketing, Communication, or Business.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in digital (and traditional) marketing, social media management and communications with a focus on shaping supporter experience.

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, be persuasive, develop trust and maintain flourishing working relationships.

  • Clear, concise and engaging copywriting skills with a portfolio of pieces ranging from media releases, speech notes, case studies, brochures, social media copy and more 

  • The versatility to jump between high level strategy and rolling up your sleeves to be hands-on and operational – to make things happen!

  • Self-managing with an ability to multitask and stay well organised while demonstrating strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse and problem solve.

  • An engaging, collaborative and proactive leadership style that optimises the talents of direct reports, as well as external agencies/resources.

  • Shared commitment to our mission, values and culture.

  • Expertise in Adobe Suite particularly Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Rush/Premier Pro as well as Microsoft Office Suite and Apple Mac, Youtube, Canva, WordPress and cloud based software.

  • Experience in video creation.

  • Experience in charity environments and CRM software programs highly advantageous.

 

Other Requirements

  • Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a Police Check.

  • Occasional out of office hours’ work may be required.

  • Attendance at meetings and functions relevant to role (E.g. staff and team meetings, events, professional development and training).
