HR Advisor

Due to ongoing organisational growth a unique opportunity exists for an experienced individual with the necessary qualifications and personal qualities to provide sound advice and professional level human resources support in this newly created full time permanent position commencing as soon as possible.

 

About the Role

Supporting our dedicated HR team, the HR Advisor will provide operational support and advice to Program Managers and will be confident working across all HR functions and helping to build organisational capability through coaching. The role will also assist with the development of policy and implementation of the Strategic Plan including various organisational development, employee engagement and ad hoc HR projects. The HR Advisor is responsible to the HR Manager for the performance of their duties.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or Industrial Relations along with 3-5 years experience in a busy generalist HR role

  • A proven ability to develop strong professional partnerships and provide support and coaching ‘in all things HR’

  • Experience interpreting industrial awards and EA’s and supporting disciplinary and performance management processes

  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Well-honed organisation, administrative and technology skills and attention to detail that is second to none

  • An energetic disposition, work-ethic and commitment to organisational development

  • An ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team

  • A high level of integrity, commitment to confidentiality and ability to treat issues with tact, empathy and compassion, and

  • Commitment to Mater Dei values and Good Samaritan Benedictine traditions

 Desirable

  • Previous experience in Education, Disability or Not for Profit sector

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with an engaging approach to training delivery

  • Project and/or change management experience

  • Ability to develop HR collateral (e.g. videos, Adobe forms) and utilise Facebook and LinkedIn for recruitment

  • Experience implementing performance review processes and promoting a thriving, high performance culture

 

Additional Requirements

  • The successful applicant must hold a current Working with Children Check

  • Up to date COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment in accord with our Vaccination Policy. Evidence of 3 doses must be produced by the successful applicant prior to an offer of employment being made.
