2027 Full Time Permanent Teacher
Mater Dei School is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for a permanent full-time Classroom Teacher position, commencing in January 2027.
Position Summary
Classroom Teachers at Mater Dei are currently responsible to the Principal through the Deputy Principal. It is an expectation that the Classroom Teacher is open to teaching across all Learning Areas and may be required to teach Infants, Primary and/or Secondary students during their tenure. Both experienced teachers with NESA Proficient Accreditation and pre-service teachers with current NESA Conditional Accreditation to Teach will be considered.
Essential Selection Criteria

Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, the charism of Good Samaritan Education.
-
Demonstrate the commitment and an ability to uphold the ethos of a Catholic school.
-
Have current NESA accreditation and registration to work in a NSW school, including Conditional or Provisional accreditation.
-
An understanding of the K-6 syllabus and the Life Skills Syllabus for Years 7-12.
-
Ability to collaboratively plan, program and deliver for the diverse needs of students.

Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning across all learning areas
-
Ability to use data to assess, inform and evaluate the learning process.

Use high impact teaching strategies in classroom practice.
-
Demonstrate sensitivity to the differing needs of students and their families including privacy, confidentiality, and diversity.

Demonstrate the ability to engage professionally with colleagues, parent/carers, and the wider school community.

Working With Children Clearance

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance is required prior to employment at Mater Dei School.

A Criminal History Check is also required by the successful applicant (coordinated by Mater Dei).

Casual Teacher Assistants
We welcome applications for enthusiastic, creative, responsible and hardworking Teachers’ Assistants to support our outstanding team of Learning and Support staff in delivering innovative and contemporary education for our students commencing as soon as possible.
Essential Criteria

Experience with and/or an aptitude for supporting students with disabilities and complex support needs

Experience with and/or an aptitude for supporting Teachers to implement differentiated learning and assessment experiences that cater for the diverse needs of students

Good IT and computer skills to support contemporary and innovative student learning practices, as well as utilise the school’s education management system

Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously and as part of a team

Capacity and commitment to model the Benedictine values of Love of Christ & Neighbour; Prayer; Stewardship; Hospitality; Community; and Justice & Peace
