Administration Assistant (WorkPlace Learning) - Permanent Part Time

We are seeking a permanent part time Administration Assistant (WorkPlace Learning) for three (3) days per week.

The Administration Assistant (WorkPlace Learning) is a member of the NextPath WorkPlace Learning Team primarily providing administrative support related to WorkPlace Learning matters for the NextPath Continuous Learning Program. The Workplace Learning program is a shared initiative across Mater Dei School and NextPath Continuous Learning. The program is structured to provide our students and young adults with the opportunities and resources to build transferrable life skills and get them 'job ready' while also facilitating a sense of adult independence.

Other administration duties may be requested by the WorkPlace Learning Team Leader or NextPath Program Managers.

Throughout your role, it is imperative that you adhere to the NextPath Values:

Essential Criteria

1. Proven administrative, organisation and time management skills 

2. Good attention to detail

3. Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with an ability to build relationships, communicate at all levels 

4. Ability to build rapport with program participants/clients and their families

5. Flexible and friendly approach to customer service

6. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

7. A solutions focus for problem solving

8. Excellent computer skills as well as efficient and accurate data entry and good data management skills

9. Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment

10. An understanding of the NDIS desirable, but not essential

11. Understanding of disability and its impact on the individual and family as well as an understanding of capacity building 

Vaccination is a condition of employment at Mater Dei.  Evidence (of 3 doses of vaccination for COVID-19) must be produced prior to an offer of employment being made.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHAD's Award 2010, Community Services Worker Level 2.

We are a multidisciplinary team including Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants dedicated to providing strengths based, evidence based and individualised therapy support to children and young adults.

At NextPath, we work with children and young adults with developmental delays and disabilities. We specialise in working with individuals with intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders and other diagnoses.

There are a range of opportunities to provide support to younger children, work with primary and high school aged children and also to support young adults as they transition from High School to the workforce and/or community. We provide therapy supports to children attending Mater Dei preschool and Mater Dei School (K-12), as well as support Young Adults in our NextPath Continuous Learning Program.

We also provide a range of other services to clients and families in the community, including diagnostic and therapy assessments, individual therapy sessions in the clinic or via telehealth and outreach to schools/childcare centres.

We also offer a range of group therapy sessions, including social skills groups, school readiness groups, and Alert groups. We are also supported by an Allied Health Assistant, who provides great support across all disciplines.

Our therapists work out of our 2 sites, located on the beautiful Mater Dei grounds at Camden and conveniently at Narellan Town Centre. Our therapy rooms and sensory gyms are extremely well resourced. Therapists have access to professional development opportunities and work in a highly supportive environment with experienced therapists. Group supervision and multidisciplinary collaboration are scheduled fortnightly and additional supervision or support is always available.

 

The successful applicant will have:

 Essential

  •  A relevant Speech Pathology qualification

  • CPSP Certified Practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia.

  • Clinical/practical experience working with children or young adults with developmental delays or disabilities

  • A valid Working With Children Check

  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain as part of the employment process

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable car

  • Ability to work effectively and independently as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills

  • Well-developed computer literacy

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Willingness to engage in supervision and professional development opportunities

  • A current CPR Certificate (no older than 12 months).

  • Up to date vaccination status is a mandatory for all employees and evidence will need to be provided before an offer of employment is made.
