NextPath Driver (Casual)

We are seeking a casual Driver to transport NextPath Continuous Learning participants to and from the NextPath Program.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Complete a range of NextPath taxi runs as directed by NextPath Administration and management staff.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to complete a variety of taxi runs, as required by NextPath

  • Demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record and duty of care for Young Adults at all times

  • Upkeep of vehicles, including refuelling and cleaning as required.

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with NextPath staff, Young Adults and their supporters.

  • Communicate in a timely manner to supporters Young Adult pick up times.

  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of participant information at all times.

  • Return the vehicle to its starting location at the end of each shift.

Essential Criteria

It is a condition of employment that the NextPath Driver maintains the following:

  1. Hold a valid NSW LR Licence;

  2. Good driving record (Provide NextPath with a copy of the RMS Driver Record);

  3. Medical Clearance (certificate) from a General Practitioner advising you are fit to drive;

  4. Current First Aid/ CPR Qualifications;

  5. Current Working with Children Check;

  6. Current NDIS Worker Screening Check number;

  7. Willingness to undergo an Employer Police Check;

  8. Sensitivity to the differing needs of participants including privacy, confidentiality and cultural diversity

Vaccination is a condition of employment at Mater Dei.  Evidence (of double vaccination and required boosters for COVID-19) must be produced prior to an offer of employment being made.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award (2022) Level 2.

Disability Support Workers - Casual

At NextPath Continous Learning (part of the Mater Dei Organisation),  we empower and support individuals with an intellectual disability to meet their self-directed goals. We collaborate with the individual and their family/supporters to teach them new skills and assist them at work places or other places in the community.

In response to growth in our service, opportunities now exist for Disability Support Workers to join our dynamic team of casual Assistant Goal Facilitators.  These casual positions will commence as soon as possible.

In this role you would work hands on with program participants to implement their daily program. We are all about building capacity, rather than doing “for” our program participants.

 SELECTION CRITERIA

  • A solid belief in the right of all people to determine the path their life takes

  • A demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Sound verbal and written communication skills

  • An ability to ask for guidance and follow the same

  • A sound understanding of your legislative obligations to ensure that people with a disability are not treated less favourably than a person without a disability, in the same or similar circumstances.

  • High standards of ethical and professional behaviour

  • A valid WWCC or willingness to obtain as part of the employment process

  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain as part of the employment process

  • Vaccination is a condition of employment at Mater Dei. Evidence (of double vaccination for covid-19) must be sighted prior to an offer of employment being made

 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Own car and current driver's licence – essential (green provisional licence as a minimum)

  • Capacity to work outside normal hours if required

  • A current first aid and CPR certificate
