COLA Opening & Blessing
On Thursday, 28 August, the Mater Dei School community joined together to celebrate the official Opening and Blessing of the new Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) at Mater Dei School.
Students warmly welcomed Bishop Brian Mascord, Diocese of Wollongong, who led the Liturgy and blessed our beautiful new COLA.
Special guests also joined us on this occasion, including Fr James Arblaster (St Paul’s Parish, Camden), Cr Suzy Brandstater (Wollondilly Shire Council), Sr Catherine Slattery (GSE Governing Council), and Mr Robert Keft (Mater Dei Board), as well as Principals and guests from other GSE and schools across Macarthur.
During the celebrations, the Mater Dei School Choir delighted guests with a great performance, whilst the School Captains accompanied the official party to the COLA for the blessing.
The celebration concluded with guests joining together for morning tea.
Mater Dei School is deeply grateful to the Foundation Dinner sponsors and supporters, as well as the NSW State Government, whose generosity and commitment enabled the building of the COLA.
Mater Dei School students are excited for the many learning opportunities that they will experience in the new COLA space.
