Anzac Day and Assembly 2025

It is always important for us as a School to acknowledge Anzac Day and all those who have served and sacrificed for our nation.

On Anzac Day, fifteen of our wonderful students from Kindergarten to Year 12, proudly represented Mater Dei School at the ANZAC Day parade in Camden, accompanied by Mrs Gorey and Mrs Power.

Our School Captains, Ryan and Maya, led our students with pride, carrying our school banner and laying the ANZAC wreath during the ceremony.

Of Mater Dei's seven Benedictine Values, the Value of Peace was particularly significant today as we remembered those who served and sacrificed. As Pope Francis said: "Let us pray for peace: peace in the world and in each of our hearts."

As our students returned to School for Term 2, we gathered for a dedicated Anzac Day Assembly to acknowledge and understand the importance of this day. Led by 11 Mackillop, students reflected on the significance of Anzac Day, shared the story 'Lest We Forget', and listened to The Ode, The Last Post, and Reveille. A wreath was also laid in remembrance.

We're proud of our students showing such respect and dignity whilst honouring this important day of remembrance.
